There was a young girl who swallowed a lie,
I don't know why she swallowed a lie,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was a young girl who swallowed some cider,
It squirmed and writhed and burned inside her,
She swallowed the cider to drown the lie,
I don't know why she swallowed the lie,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was a young girl who swallowed a word,
Tears blurred, she swallowed that word,
She swallowed the word to scare the cider,
That squirmed and writhed and burned inside her,
She swallowed the cider to drown the lie,
I don't know why she swallowed a lie,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was a young girl who swallowed some fat,
Imagine that, she swallowed the fat,
She swallowed the fat to hurl the word,
She swallowed the word to scare the cider,
That squirmed and writhed and burned inside her,
She swallowed the cider to drown the lie,
I don't know why she swallowed the lie,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was a young girl who swallowed the fog,
Her throat a bog, she swallowed the fog,
She swallowed the fog to hide the fat,
She swallowed the fat to hurl the word,
She swallowed the word to scare the cider,
That squirmed and writhed and burned inside her,
She swallowed the cider to drown the lie,
I don't know why she swallowed the lie,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was a young girl who swallowed her coat,
Tore up her throat and swallowed her coat,
She swallowed her coat to catch the fog,
She swallowed the fog to hide the fat,
She swallowed the fat to hurl the word,
She swallowed the word to scare the cider,
That squirmed and writhed and burned inside her,
She swallowed the cider to drown the lie,
I don't know why she swallowed a lie,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was a young girl who swallowed a vow,
I don't know how she swallowed a vow,
She swallowed the vow to rip the coat,
She swallowed the coat to catch the fog,
She swallowed the fog to hide the fat,
She swallowed the fat to hurl the word,
She swallowed the word to scare the cider,
That squirmed and writhed and burned inside her,
She swallowed the cider to drown the lie,
I don't know why she swallowed the lie,
Perhaps she'll die.
There was a young girl who swallowed remorse,
She's dead, of course!
I don't know why she swallowed a lie,
Perhaps she'll die.

The Story of a Homeless Young Girl
There she lies on dirty pillows
Scratching the bottoms of sidewalks
For food.
Some people wish for a house made of gold
Well, she just wishes for a home.
Some people wish for a lovely dinner
While she simply wishes for a meal.
But a smile lies
On her innocent face
For she does not yet know greed.
Selfishness.
Hatred.
Keep in mind the girl's young age
Her innocence toward anger and rage.
A girl with the eyes filled with silent pain
But nevertheless, a smile on her face.
One day a man came about
And offered her something to eat.
Two apples and a bread of wheat.
She took some bread crumbs and gave them to the birds
Without crying a tear or
